❄️ Freezethawed: The Newsletter #014 - The bar is low, 2021

Hello everyone!

It is 2021! You’ve made it past a ridiculously difficult year and you deserve a pat on the back.

I feel 2020 was an eye opener on how we can easily learn to be content with what we have. How less is more, as well as how raising the bar for expectations is a futile exercise. I would love to go into my thoughts and resolutions for 2021, but we’ll begin that from next week. For now, I leave you with this tweet from Mark Manson, which resonated with me and led me down this trail.

In other news, 2021 is sort of, off to an extraordinary start for me. On 1st January, I received the news that the first article that I submitted since my residency began, was published in the Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, one of the most coveted journals in the country. This filled me up with immense gratitude right from the first day of the year. I’ve attached a photo of me below with the digital print of my article and with a link to the article itself.

Here is the link.

For a while i’ve been thinking of expanding this newsletter a bit more and from 2021 I’ll be sharing a new song I’ve heard and a new quote I’ve come across every week with you all.

Aggregate, the weekly quote

We are, each of us, a product of the stories we tell ourselves.

- Happy, Derren Brown

Harmony, the weekly song

Die A Happy Man - Thomas Rhett

See you soon!

Anujeet.
